Membership Information

Membership is open to any individual who is involved with administrative functions of the medical staff or managed care organizations.  OAMSS is dedicated to education and are committed to excellence in our profession, along with having a passion for the medical services profession.  

Different Membership Categories exists to meet your needs:

Active: Active membership shall consist of individuals actively involved in credentialing, privileging, practitioner or provider organizations and / or regulatory compliance in the healthcare industry. Active members shall be required to pay dues and shall be eligible to vote and hold office.

Associate: Associate membership shall consist of former active members who no longer meet the criteria for active membership, individuals who support OAMSS, or full time students enrolled in a health related field. Associate members shall be required to pay dues, but shall not be eligible to vote or hold office.

Honorary: Honorary membership may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Directors to those individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the goals of this association. Honorary members shall not be required to pay dues. Honorary members shall be required to pay 50% of the registration fees for continuing education seminars sponsored by OAMSS. Honorary members shall not be eligible to vote or hold office.

Membership Benefits:

1. The Spring Conference, a two-day conference which provides speakers and workshops on diversified topics of interest to those involved in medical staff services and/or managed care organizations. There is a conference registration discount for members. Average 12 CE credits awarded.

2. Continuing education credits for attendance at educational programs, seminars, and workshops at both state and regional conferences. 

3. Automatic membership in Region, at no extra cost, which provides additional opportunities for continuing education and networking.

4. Discussion forum with other OAMSS members on credentialing/privileging, best-practice questions and other industry-related questions.

5. OAMSS Scholarships offering financial support for at least four recipients per calendar year for further education/certification endeavors.

6. Outstanding OAMSS Advocate Award recognizes professionals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to OAMSS through their contributions to the profession and OAMSS at the local, state and/or national level.

7. The OAMSS Professional Achievement Award recognizes professionals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the medical staff services profession by mentoring, sharing knowledge, fostering education opportunities and encouraging growth of the medical staff services profession.
